Deep Cleaning

I decided it was time for some deep cleaning in the house. I do the surfacy stuff often but when you notice spiders taking up residence in the nooks and crannies spinning elaborate homes for themselves you know you need to take a different approach. lol What? You’ve never had a spider try to take up permanent residence in your home? One is fine but when they invite their friends that’s where I draw the line. lol

That is also true of our spiritual homes. Sometimes rather than the 5 minute devotionals, that are more like surface cleaning we may need a deeper cleaning with the water of the word. I had been needing that for a while and just spent the most wonderful time with God in Joel as He cleaned the spiders and cobwebs out of my spiritual home. I always feel so much better when my physical and spiritual homes are all clean and clutter free. It just makes you want to take a big sigh of relief. Ahhhhhh!

As I picked up my vacuum cleaner and started moving and noticed the spider condos, I got sidetracked as this little devotional started flowing out of me so I had to sit down and write it before I forgot it, which can happen relatively quickly for me (lol) but now since God has cleaned my spiritual home I must go finish cleaning my physical home which qualifies as exercise by the way which God thinks I need and provides for me in abundance; so I can breathe that sigh of relief.

Thank you Lord for keeping our spiritual homes clean as we spend time in the water of the word.

Funny thing!!!!…..I was just reading about Martha and Mary this morning and the whole lesson was that God desires us…me …to sit at His feet and not worry about the things that distract. That was time well spent wasn’t it, Beth?! Mary had chosen the better part and may we continue to learn that….to sit as His feet and listen to His word. As you put it…that is an ahhhhh moment!!!! May there be many more to come.

Thank you for your thoughts Janet. Yes sitting at His feet and listening to Him is the key. He loves us so much and He is so faithful everyday in our lives. Time with Him is precious to me as I’m sure it is with you as well. The wisdom He reveals if we will just sit and listen.;)
